Beginning in Austin, TX, in the heart of their middle school days, David Kapsner (lead vocals/guitar/piano), Michael Jekot (lead guitar/vocals), and Tyler Rush (bass/vocals) came together to transcend the barrier of blues-rock into funky psych-soul through their various music ventures. Bringing the audacious and wonderfully talented Tim Durand (drums/vocals) into the picture has recently solidified the band with a roaring sound and strength to complement their vibe. Dedication to their music has evolved The Mammoths from garage rock to sophisticated blues-funk, and constant experimentation has allowed each member of the group to always stay true to their roots. Jekot, self-described as playing in the “grunge-endrix” style, notes that Kapsner’s soul-vocals, Durand’s pure metal, and Tyler’s deep, groovy funk stand out in the realm of rock, drawing influence from all over to create a sound that is entirely new, yet curiously familiar.
The Orange Constant:
The Orange Constant formed in 2012 and has since made a name for itself across the American southeast. Now residing in Athens, Ga., the group continues to grow a loyal fan-base that craves its vintage-rock sound with a contemporary twist. TOC's debut album, Time to Go (June 2015), was recorded with Grammy-nominated producer John Keane (R.E.M., Widespread Panic) and garnered praise from Relix Magazine as a "confident and polished debut album...laden with connective riffs and melodious charm." The band shares bills with acts such as Perpetual Groove, TAUK, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, and CBDB and won the 2016 Flagpole Athens Music Award for best "Jam/ Funk" band. Its second LP, Point of Reference (March 2017), was produced by Drew Vandenberg (of Montreal, Kishi Bashi, Futurebirds) and demonstrates an urge to break genre restrictions. The Orange Constant draws influence from many different styles and fans are often drawn to their ability to meld progressive composition and improvisation with a pop-like sensibility. The band is: Andrew Brantley (guitar, vocals), Nickalous Benson (guitar, vocals), Tyler Walker (bass, vocals), Chris Freiberg (keyboards), Sam Groveman (drums).
Forged on a Tennessee mountaintop, Easy Honey began molding their irresistible sound and raucous live performance in 2015. With sounds reminiscent of early Brit-Rock with a nod to 90’s alt-rock, Easy Honey captures both the playfulness and maturity that accompanies one’s coming of age. Easy Honey’s throwback sense of touch, taste, and tone washes over the listener like quicksilver but seizes the audience’s ear like quicksand. After recording in Franklin, TN, the band released the self-titled Easy Honey album in May, 2018. During the album’s promotion, the band moved to Charleston, South Carolina. The group consists of dual frontmen Selby Austin (Vocals & Guitar) and Darby McGlone (Vocals & Guitar), Charlie Holt (Vocals & Drums) and Daniel Comen (Bass Guitar).
Easy Honey has headlined venues in Charleston SC, Savannah GA, and Jackson Mississippi, while also supporting large name groups like Cowboy Mouth, Metro Station, and Everyone Orchestra.
Easy Honey is currently planning their second full length album release for the Fall of 2019.
